Company Overview: NFM US, a defense contractor in the St. Louis area is hiring for the position of Quality Technician. A joint venture formed by industry leading U.S. and European defense contractors, the company is starting up operations in 2024 to primarily support the needs of the U.S. Department of Defense through the exclusive use of an advanced and disruptive technology being brought to the United States.Job Summary:Responsible for ensuring the quality of product produced meets or exceeds Product Acceptance Criteria, customer requirements, specification and standardsPerforms incoming inspection of materials, monitor product during assigned shift for all stages of production and perform finished goods auditsAssists in training of Production and Quality personnel to production requirements and quality standardsMust lead by example in the areas of Safety, Quality and ProfessionalismKey Duties/Responsibilities:Maintain safe, clean and organized work areaParticipate in 5S ProgramEffectively prioritize daily, weekly, and monthly workloadGenerate Corrective Action RequestsAssist in investigation of defect occurrences and development of countermeasuresUtilize proven quality concepts to determine root causes of defectsPerform data analysis in support of corrective action activitiesAssist in monitoring of countermeasure effectivenessUnderstand, explain and execute document forms, usage, control, data recording and reportingMonitor the usage of Work Instructions, BOMs and scrap reporting documents/proceduresDevelop, maintain and modify controlled documents as assigned to include Quality Department work instructionsAssists in production, qualification and development of First Article parts and documentationProduces, qualifies and develops First Article parts and documentationPerform incoming inspections, identify inspection requirements of material and components received, report status of product and segregate as requiredPerform in process inspectionsPerform finished goods inspectionsKnowledge of and the ability to apply product acceptance criteriaPerform assigned internal audits of processesPerform assigned internal audits of ISO clausesAccurately input data utilized for Key Process IndicatorsGenerate Key Process Indicator reportsKnowledge and usage of part measuring devices ( scales, calipers, rulers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)Understand, explain and execute the calibration procedureAdminister Nonconforming Product ProcedureInput data for purposes of defect analysis and reportingCommunicate quality issues with Operators and Leadership team when discoveredIssue Quality Alerts to Production using customer criteria, drawings, and internal communicationsCreate defect analyses and reportsLead defect review meetingsParticipate in Process Improvement activitiesLead Process Improvement activitiesCorrectly identify status of product according to color coding systemActively seek opportunities for professional developmentInput and report inspection and testing results accuratelyAssist in QMS records reviewsPerform testing per established standardsAssist in training of Production personnelAssist in training of Quality personnelOther duties as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality resultsExcellent computer skills (proficient in Microsoft suite)Effective communication and collaboration abilitiesMust be able to operate with minimal supervisionUnderstand and practice 5S requirementsBe flexible with shift work and overtime Education And ExperienceA minimum of five years’ experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance in a manufacturing or production environment, or two years’ experience in Quality and an Associate degree in a related field is required Preferred Additional Qualifications: SIX SIGMA Green Belt, CQI or CQT certificationWork Environment This position works primarily in a factory setting varying between standing and sitting 6-9 hours per day:Standing – up to 70% - The employee is required to remain in their feet in an upright position for continuous periods of time without being able to leave work areaSitting – approximately 30%Climbing – This position will require climbing of stairsWalking – up to 20% - The employee is required to walk short distances in the facility throughout the dayLifting – up to 50% - The employee is required to raise or lower objects up to 50 pounds from one level to another regularly during the shiftPulling and/or Pushing up to 30 poundsCarrying up to 20 poundsUses industrial equipment and related toolsCompensation and Benefits:Competitive CompensationCasual work environmentThis is a full-time, permanent position with healthcare/dental/vision insurance401K retirement plan with Company matchNFM US is an equal opportunity employer.
