Line Cook/Prep Cook

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team in a busy restaurant setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation and kitchen operations, with a focus on delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for supporting the kitchen team by preparing ingredients, cooking meals, and ensuring all food is served safely and in a timely manner. Responsibilities: - Prepare ingredients for cooking, such as chopping vegetables and marinating meats - Assist with food preparation, including washing and peeling produce, and cooking proteins and grains - Operate kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, and grills - Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards - Assist with plating and garnishing dishes for presentation - Work effectively in a team environment to ensure seamless service - Maintain a high level of quality control throughout food preparation and presentation - Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed - Participate in ongoing training and professional development to improve skills and knowledge - Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs and requests Requirements: - Experience working in the food industry, preferably in a restaurant or fine dining setting - Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment - Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations - Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and work in a standing position for extended periods - Excellent communication and teamwork skills - Familiarity with food handling and safety procedures - Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities - High school diploma or equivalent required - Experience in a fine dining or culinary environment preferred - Certification in food safety Job Type: Part-time Pay: From $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week Education: High school or equivalent (Required) Experience: Food preparation: 1 year (Required) Food industry: 1 year (Preferred) Shift availability: Day Shift (Preferred) Night Shift (Preferred) Ability to Relocate: Lebanon, OR 97355: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
