Senior Helicopter A&P Mechanic

STS Technical Services is hiring a Senior Helicopter A&P Mechanic in Palestine, Texas. This is a high-impact aviation role supporting critical air medical operations. Qualified candidates are eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000.If you are an experienced FAA-certified A&P Mechanic with helicopter maintenance experience and strong troubleshooting skills, this opportunity allows you to support aircraft that operate on life-saving missions every day.Position OverviewThe Senior Helicopter A&P Mechanic is responsible for maintaining aircraft airworthiness and ensuring mission readiness at all times. This role supports daily inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, parts management, documentation, and coordination with maintenance leadership.This position requires technical expertise, accountability, and the ability to operate in a high-responsibility aviation environment.Key ResponsibilitiesReview daily maintenance and inspection requirements to maintain aircraft airworthinessNotify the Lead Mechanic of unusual situations requiring schedule adjustments, aircraft changes, additional manpower, or technical supportOversee maintenance activities at assigned field basesMonitor stock levels and requisition parts as necessaryEnsure safety and security of company assets at assigned locationsPrepare reports, requisitions, inventories, and certify aircraft logs and inspection forms in compliance with FAA and manufacturer requirementsComplete maintenance records and system entries accuratelyMaintain communication with the Lead Mechanic, AMBS, and relevant personnel to ensure timely task completionManage parts inventory and recommend level adjustmentsMaintain company-provided tools and ensure proper calibration schedulesPerform additional duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School Diploma requiredFAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings requiredMinimum of 2 years of experience as a certified aircraft mechanicStrong troubleshooting skills in airframe and powerplant systemsStrong communication and computer skillsAbility to pass pre-placement physical exam, drug screening, and background checkFor roving maintenance team members, sheet metal repair and/or avionics troubleshooting experience requiredAbility to travel frequently, sometimes on short noticeAbility to work night shifts as requiredSchedule & Location7 and 7 scheduleMust live within one hour or 60 miles of the assigned baseTravel between bases requiredCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive compensation based on experienceShift bonuses and incentivesAnnual safety and employee bonusesSign-on bonus up to $15,000 for qualified new hiresCore CompetenciesCommitment to safety and continuous improvementFocus on efficiency and operational reliabilityDedication to quality and consistent performanceStrong service orientation toward customers, communities, and teammatesAbout STS Technical ServicesSTS Technical Services is a Top 100 Staffing Firm supporting aviation, aerospace, manufacturing, and defense organizations across the United States.
