Landfill Operations Supervisor (C&D Facility)

Location: Chesterfield, VAJob Type: Direct HireCompensation: Starting at $90,000+ annually (based on experience)Role OverviewWe are seeking a skilled operations leader to oversee day-to-day activities at a Construction & Demolition (C&D) disposal site. This position is responsible for coordinating site operations, ensuring compliance with environmental standards, leading field teams, and optimizing overall performance.The ideal candidate brings experience from landfill operations, heavy civil construction, quarry/aggregate environments, or similar industrial settings, along with strong leadership and operational planning skills.Core ResponsibilitiesOperations ManagementOversee daily disposal site activities including material placement, compaction, and cover processesCoordinate inbound traffic, tipping operations, and material flow for efficiencyWork with hauling partners to ensure smooth site logisticsMonitor grading, drainage, and site capacity utilizationTrack performance metrics such as volume, cycle times, and productivityEnvironmental & Regulatory ComplianceEnsure adherence to all permits, environmental regulations, and reporting standardsMaintain inspection logs and compliance documentationManage stormwater controls, erosion prevention, and environmental safeguardsCollaborate with consultants and regulatory agencies as neededLead corrective actions related to compliance issuesTeam Leadership & SafetySupervise operators, laborers, and support personnelSet expectations for productivity, safety, and performancePromote a safety-first culture and ensure adherence to all safety protocolsSupport employee development and accountabilityEquipment & Fleet OversightManage usage of heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, dozers, and compactorsCoordinate preventive maintenance and repair schedulesEnsure equipment readiness to meet operational demandsCustomer & Vendor RelationsMaintain strong relationships with contractors, haulers, and customersAddress service concerns and scheduling needs in a timely mannerSupport overall customer satisfaction and site efficiencyQualificationsMinimum 5+ years of experience in landfill operations, heavy civil construction, quarry/aggregate operations, or similar environmentsPrior leadership or supervisory experience requiredKnowledge of trucking logistics and heavy equipment operationsFamiliarity with construction and demolition material handling processesUnderstanding of environmental regulations and permitting requirementsStrong communication, organizational, and leadership skillsPreferred ExperienceBackground managing C&D landfill operationsKnowledge of landfill airspace utilization and development planningExperience with scale systems, reporting tools, or operational tracking softwareCompensation & BenefitsWeekly payProfit sharing programPaid holidays and PTOMedical, dental, and vision coverageShort-term disability insuranceCompany-paid life insuranceWhy This Role?This is an opportunity to lead operations in a fast-moving environmental services setting, where you’ll have a direct impact on site performance, compliance, and team success.
