Manufacturing Process Engineer – CNC/CAD-CAM
Location: Naperville, IL
Schedule: Full-time, onsite; occasional overtime and weekends
Compensation: $90-100
Position Summary
Our client, a precision-manufacturing job shop, is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Process Engineer to manage assigned jobs from initial review through production completion. This role combines manufacturing engineering, 3D CAD, CAM programming, tooling design, documentation, and production troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
Review customer drawings, specifications, tolerances, and GD&T.
Evaluate designs for manufacturability.
Create 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings.
Develop CAM programs and detailed work travelers.
Design tooling, gauges, fixtures, dies, and workholding.
Troubleshoot machining and part-production issues.
Support machining, laser cutting, stamping, welding, and fabrication.
Communicate with customers regarding designs, approvals, and job issues.
Support Sales, Estimating, Production, and Quality.
Manage multiple jobs and demanding deadlines.
Qualifications
Manufacturing or engineering experience in a job-shop or precision-manufacturing environment.
Experience taking manufacturing projects from review through completion.
Proficiency with any comparable 3D CAD platform.
CAD/CAM or CNC programming experience.
Strong machining, tooling, fixture, blueprint, and GD&T knowledge.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
Excellent communication and technical-writing skills.
Mechanical Engineering degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR regulations.
