Electrical Test Engineer
Job Title: Electrical Test EngineerLocation: Mossville, IL (Onsite)Duration: 12 months (High Possibility of extension)Pay range: $45/hr to $50/hr. on W2 (all inclusive)Job Description: Why This RoleAs a Camera Component Engineer, you will support the development and deployment of advanced camera and sensing technologies used in autonomous, safety, and operator-awareness systems. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across a wide range of machine platforms and real-world applications, combining hands-on testing, field validation, and technical problem-solving.Key ResponsibilitiesTesting & ValidationExecute performance testing of camera systems in lab and real-world field conditionsConduct environmental testing (temperature, vibration, durability) and third-party facilitiesEvaluate system performance including: Detection capabilityField of viewImage quality under varying lighting conditionsTechnical ExecutionDevelop and maintain: Test plansTest reports and documentationTroubleshoot and resolve camera system and hardware issues at component and PCBA levelUse tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and diagnostic softwareApplication EngineeringValidate camera performance in real-world environments (natural light, low light, glare, etc.)Support camera systems used in: ADAS (driver assistance)Autonomous systemsSafety and awareness featuresCollaborationWork closely with third-party suppliers to develop and qualify camera productsPartner with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and align on system performance goalsParticipate in team discussions, design reviews, and cross-functional meetingsTypical Work EnvironmentOffice-based work with access to on-site labsOutdoor field testing on test vehicles and machinesOccasional travel to nearby testing facilities (Mossville / Chicagoland area)Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in: Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline5–7 years of experience in electronics or sensor developmentExperience working with camera systems, ADAS sensors, or robotics vision systemsRequired Technical SkillsStrong hands-on experience in: Hardware testing and validationEnvironmental and performance testingAbility to: Create and execute test plansAnalyze results and generate technical reportsTroubleshooting skills at: Component levelCircuit board (PCBA) levelFamiliarity with: Image quality evaluation (focus, color, lighting conditions)Camera system validation and calibration conceptsSoft Skills & CompetenciesSelf-driven and proactive mindsetStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsOrganized and detail-orientedClear and concise communication skillsCurious and inquisitive approach to technologyPreferred QualificationsExperience in: Automotive ADAS systemsRobotics or machine visionSmart camera systemsMaster’s degree (optional, not required)What We’re Looking ForA hands-on engineer who enjoys working with hardware in both lab and field environmentsSomeone passionate about emerging sensing technologiesA team player who can support multiple programs and adapt in a fast-paced development environment
