StaffBusiness Development & Marketing Coordinator – Oakland or San FranciscoMay 28, 2026Burke, Williams & Sorensen, LLP is seeking a full-time Business Development & Marketing Coordinator to support its Business Development Team with pitches, proposals, presentations, awards submissions, and research projects across various practices, and to provide occasional support for practice-specific conferences, events, and virtual programs.This position is a full-time, non-exempt, 7.5-hour/day position. Our current arrangement for staff is to work 2 days on-site and 3 days from home weekly upon satisfactory completion of their introductory period. This arrangement may be changed at any time based on business needs and decisions. This position reports to the Director of Business Development & Marketing.DescriptionEssential responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Assist with pitches, proposals, and RFP responses, including internal research as well as formatting, editing, proofreading, and printing materials.Conduct research on prospective clients, industries, markets, and competitive landscape; monitor and report on industry trends and issues impacting specific practices, clients, and prospects.Manage the firm’s intranet and social networking channels, including content (e.g., LinkedIn, etc.), and other electronic communications, including drafting and updating content and images. Must be able to use design software such as Canva.Prepare marketing materials, including PowerPoint presentations, for current and prospective clients, often with quick turnaround times.Update firm marketing materials of attorney bios, firm practice area descriptions, firm brochures, and attorney presentations.Assist with rankings and awards submissions, including internal research as well as drafting, editing, and proofreading materials; maintain editorial calendars and submission tracking.Provide direction and support for firm events, including but not limited to support for in-person professional events, conference sponsorships, client receptions, including invitation list development, tracking RSVPs, organizing registration, preparing name tags, greeting attendees, preparing materials, and reserving necessary equipment and facilities.Other business development and marketing activities as necessary.QualificationsBachelor’s degree required, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Business, English, or related field.2 – 3 years of experience in a similar role or with a professional services firm required.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with attorneys and clients.Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously without sacrificing attention to detail.Creative research skills, meticulous writing, proofreading and data entry skills, and the capacity to interpret data.Technological proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office programs, including Copilot, HubSpot, and Canva.Grace under pressure and ability to work with tight deadlines.Positive, proactive, and professional demeanor.CompensationThe annual compensation range for this position is $70,000.00 to $90,000.00.
