EHS Specialist

What You Will DoFoster a safe work environment and lead by example, adhering to and enforcing all safety and regulatory procedures. Promptly acting on unsafe situations.Immediately report potential food safety or product quality issues to the management staff or shift supervisor.At least 70% of time is spent in the production environment supporting a variety of EHS activities which can including:Managing employee's safety concernsWorkplace InspectionsRisk Assessments – New and UpdatingSafety Walks with different teams and Plant LeadershipContractor InspectionsProgrammed Safety Focused AuditsManagement of Change (Machines, work areas, etc.)Updating safety communications and contractor safety boardsPerform weekly inspections of Hazardous Waste Storage AreasPerform Stormwater InspectionsSign Waste ManifestsPerform environmental/DOT trainingPrepare and submit required reports monthly/quarterly/semiannual/annually.Chemical approval review for safety and environmental impactsGather/record environmental data (Monthly air emissions, Oxidizer readings, etc.)Periodic review of government websites for regulation changesThe balance of time is used for administrative tasks such as:Leads Safety TeamEnsuring local authorities, regulations, rules and codes, programs and policies related to safety are observed.
