DescriptionDesired Skills: Required: 1 year Barista experience Required: 1 year Hospitality or Restaurant Experience Required: Ability to work 4-5 shifts a week (24+ hours) Required: Ability to work between the hours of 630am - 11pm Preferred 1 year Barista Experience in a Third Wave Coffee Shop BARISTA FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Barista Functions: Serve espresso-based drinks to product quality standards An understanding of coffee's different brew methods and serving styles Ability to pour latte art: hearts, tulips, and rosettas with ease Ability to dial in the espresso to maintain the quality standards Understanding of third-wave coffee practices and routines Daily cleanings and shut down of espresso equipment Customer Service Functions: Provide friendly, efficient, and personal service to each customer Create a rapport with regular customers Educate customers on our products Maintain familiarity with coffee products and quality standards Accurately process transactions in the 'Square' system Communicate with team members and management to solve problems and improve service Support a positive work environment Navigate a fast-paced work environment Honor health code and cleanliness standards Physical Demands Stand & Walk - up to 6 hr on shift and move about the cafe Lift - up to 30 lbs occasionally Tamping - up to 30lbs of pressure on the wrist, arm, and shoulder Daily Tasks: Customer Service Taking Orders Preparing Drinks Product Knowledge Opening Duties Closing Duties Setting Up Next Shift Scooping Ice Cream Brewing Coffee Stocking Washing Dishes Maintaining Store Cleanliness Maintaining State & Local Health Code Standards Maintaining State & Local Alcohol Serving Standards Daily & Deep Cleaning Tasks Other duties as assigned Certificates & Licenses Candidate must obtain prior to first day: Oregon OLCC Alcohol Service Permit (if 18+) Oregon Food Handler's License Benefits: Health & Dental Insurance after 60 days at Full Time (30+ hours) 401k match after 1 year Employee DiscountSick Pay Vacation Pay (after 18 months) Starting wage is $14.25 with weekly tips.
