Philanthropic Engagement Coordinator (Fort Lauderdale)
PurposeThe Philanthropic Engagement Coordinator supports the Assistant Vice President of Philanthropic Engagement in providing the infrastructure to advance the identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and engagement of the constituencies of Pine Crest School. The Coordinator is directly responsible for gift processing, prospect research, and the accuracy and integrity of all giving records. The coordinator works closely with members of the Philanthropic Engagement Team and colleagues across campuses to fulfill responsibilities.Personal CharacteristicsRises to meet emerging challenges and opportunities through effective collaboration, intentional technological integrations, strong communication skills and adaptabilityDemonstrates a commitment to a culture of belonging through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing biasMakes effective use of technology, and possesses appropriate software and computer skills, applicable to positionDemonstrates the ability to work independently and establishes and maintains cooperative and effective working relationships with others both internally and externallyMaintains strict confidentiality and professionalism with privileged informationMaintains a high regard for personal safety and for the safety of school students, employees, and assetsExhibits the ability to work on multiple projects/responsibilities with minimal supervision and meet/exceed deadlines; performs multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activitiesDemonstrates analytical skills, logical thought processes, and strong problem-solving skillsDemonstrates well-developed administrative skillsDisplays the ability to compose accurate and effective correspondence with proficiency in grammar and punctuationPossesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to be able to communicate effectivelyPossesses strong organization skills and exhibits extreme attention to detailEssential Job FunctionsSupports the School's mission statement and the philosophy of the department and adheres to School policies and procedures, including but not limited to what is outlined in the Employee HandbookCross-trains responsibilities with the Director and is able to fulfill responsibilities in the Director's absenceMaintains a strong understanding of Advancement Services as a functional area including constituent records, gift processing, information input, retrieval, analysis, and prospect researchMaintains data and information to be accurate and accessible in both Raiser's Edge database and NXTConducts prospect research and management at the highest levelPerforms research activities that identify constituents with the highest philanthropic potential and contributes to engagement strategiesPossesses strong data analysis skills to create biographical profiles, reports and present data as neededResponsible for accurate and timely data entry and processing of all donor and gift information into Raiser's Edge, including the mailing of receipts for tax purposesRecords and acknowledges all gifts daily, including cash, pledges, stock transfer, and in-kind donationsServes as the liaison with the Finance Office for gift posting and monthly reconciliation of gifts and pledges, creation of new funds, annual audits, and gifts of transferred assetsMakes daily deposits, including the required documentation for Finance and OperationsProvides month-end reports for Finance Office reconciliation and serves as the Philanthropic Engagement liaison for the annual AuditSupports overall management of the database including updating constituent information, creating new records, and data cleanupRepresents the office and provides volunteer assistance at select school wide eventsWorks proficiently as an emergent leader, respected when serving as the team leader and as a team memberPassionate and proactive in learning best practices to strengthen personal performance and Philanthropic Engagement programsSupports the department administratively as neededPerforms other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Department Supervisor or their designeeJob QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree preferredExperience and Qualifications:Three years of experience in database management and/or gift processing, preferably using Raiser's Edge database and NXTFluent in current technology pertinent to job duties and is knowledgeable of database systems, structure, and best practices for philanthropic engagementProven ability to be highly analytical, possesses inherent attention to detail and data integrityProven experience in providing outstanding customer service to internal and external customersPossesses organizational, prioritization, judgment, discretion, and problem-solving skillsWorking ConditionsWork performed primarily in an office setting (prolonged periods of sitting)Intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, kneeling, bending, reaching and lifting up to 25 lbs.May be subject to working hours during, before, and after the regular school day and occasional overtimeOccasional travel may be required (e.g., between campuses)
