Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Education and/or Experience:A Graduate from high school or a general education degree is required.One to three months of related experience and/or training.Language Skills:Speak, read, and write the Inupiaq language.Read and interpret procedures, policies, and regulations, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Write routine reports and correspondence.Effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, staff, and the public.Preference:Inupiaq-speaking and cultural experience preferred.Mathematical Skills:Add, subtract, multiply, and divide.Perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurements, volume, and distance.Reasoning Ability:Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of non-standard situations.Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Valid Class D Alaska Driver's LicenseOther Skills and Abilities:Lift 40 pounds.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Facilitate communications among parents, teachers, administrators, students, and supporting agencies to ensure the success of students.Interact positively with students.Assist in the early recognition and prevention of educational problems.Monitor student attendance and progress and make informed, timely educational decisions.Refer students' attendance and their families to appropriate community agencies and services.Maintain appropriate, confidential records and provide timely reports.Adhere to all District policies and regulations.Support the value of education and the philosophy and mission of the District.Physical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
