Casting Supplier Development Engineer

Apply via Dice today!ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with design engineers to review drawings, provide feedback, and determine best casting processes (V-Process, Sand, Investment, Iron, Tilt-Pour, etc.).Develop casting design and inspection guidelines to reduce non-conformances and ensure high-quality outputs.Partner with casting suppliers to improve mold design, flow analysis, DFM, and inspection processes.Act as liaison between design, machining, and casting suppliers to align design and manufacturing requirements.Lead supplier development efforts in quality, capacity, and KPI performance.Support supplier qualification deliverables (PPQP, PPAP, FAI, Cpk, pFMEA, etc.).Drive continuous process improvements, cost reduction, and supplier audits.Ensure compliance with ISO9000, IATF 16949, ISO13485 standards.Travel up to 20% (domestic/international) to supplier sites.Required Skills & QualificationsBS in Mechanical Engineering (Master s preferred).5+ years of related experience in Manufacturing Development, Supplier Development, or Process Engineering.Direct experience in design and casting of aluminum and steel molds and parts.Hands-on experience in V-Process, Sand Casting, Tilt-Pour, and Investment Casting.Knowledge of destructive and non-destructive testing (X-ray, MPI).Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.Knowledge of CNC machining and secondary operations (a plus).Experience in medical device industry preferred.Familiarity with quality/regulatory standards (ISO9000, ISO13485, IATF 16949).
