Senior Systems / Electronics Engineer

Overview In this role you will serve as the technical bridge between imaging payloads and the spacecraft bus, optimizing cross-system interfaces. You’ll influence system trades, assess design options, and guide integration for next‑gen space constellations. Compensation / Benefits401(k) with company matchmental health resourcesstudent loan repayment assistanceadoption reimbursementpet insurance ResponsibilitiesAct as the technical interface between imaging payload and spacecraft bus, aligning electrical, mechanical, thermal, and data interfaces.Lead and participate in system‑level trades evaluating design alternatives, cost/risk, and technology insertion.Assess and troubleshoot payload and bus designs down to circuit level using electrical engineering expertise.Support radiation analysis and mitigation for electronics in space, guiding EEE parts selection and architecture protections.Perform or review signal and power integrity analyses and ensure compliance with space electrical standards (MIL-STD, ECSS, NASA).Model and evaluate payload power, data, and timing interactions; contribute to ICD documentation.Evaluate emerging technologies and COTS/FoS hardware for system‑level feasibility.Contribute to design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and ensure payloads meet performance, reliability, and environmental constraints. Key requirementsU.S. Citizen with active secret security clearance or ability to obtain oneBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or related technical field8+ years of experience with space-based optical remote sensing payloads, especially LE0 missionsExperience with electrical systems engineering for space platforms, radiation effects, and parts derating/qualificationExperience with spacecraft‑payload interface development, electrical interface analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration across space segmentAbility to interpret schematics, block diagrams, and PCB layouts, and assess system‑level implicationsFamiliarity with FPGA, processor, and memory technologiesExperience working across payload, spacecraft, and ground teamsCross‑functional collaborationAnalytical mindset with rigorous problem solvingClear technical communicationRadiation effects on electronics and screening/qualificationElectrical interface control documentation (ICDs)Signal integrity and power integrity analysis
