Grain Originator / Branch ManagerAbout the RoleTopflight Grain is seeking motivated, relationship-focused individuals to join our team as a Grain Originator / Branch Manager. This role combines customer service, grain merchandising support, grain accounting, and daily facility operations to help serve our producers and local communities.This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building long-term relationships with farmers, working in agriculture, and being part of a fast-paced team environment. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting customer grain marketing needs while ensuring efficient and accurate grain handling and settlement operations.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective customersProvide excellent customer service and timely communication to patronsMaintain current grain market knowledge and communicate market information to customersAssist customers with grain contracts and available marketing optionsPurchase grain from patrons and maintain accurate contract documentationPrepare grain settlements and customer paymentsOperate grain scales and grain accounting systemsAccurately process inbound and outbound grain ticketsTest grain for moisture, test weight, foreign material, and damageCoordinate grain logistics and trucking activities with operations personnelCommunicate daily with Elevator Superintendents and Operations Management regarding grain movement plansMonitor delayed price contracts and contract signature statusAssist in resolving customer concerns professionally and promptlySupervise and assist seasonal harvest employeesPromote and maintain a safe work environment for employees, customers, and vendorsWhat We're Looking ForWe are looking for individuals who:Enjoy working directly with producers and customersTake pride in accuracy and attention to detailCommunicate professionally and respectfullyThrive in a team-oriented agricultural environmentDemonstrate reliability, initiative, and strong work ethicQualificationsAgriculture-related education or experience preferredKnowledge of the grain industry and grain handling practices preferredStrong customer service and communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage time effectivelyBasic computer proficiency required, including Microsoft OfficeExperience with grain accounting or scale systems such as Agris or OneWeigh preferredValid Class D driver's license requiredWork Environment & SchedulePrimarily office-based with regular interaction in grain handling environmentsExposure to grain dust and seasonal harvest noiseMonday–Friday schedule with extended hours, weekends, holidays, and overtime during harvest seasons as neededPhysical RequirementsFrequent standing, walking, sitting, and handling/fingering activitiesOccasional climbing, bending, kneeling, and drivingEqual Opportunity EmployerTopflight Grain is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
