This leader will be fully accountable for the defining technical vision, strategy, and talents as Docusign accelerates its global expansion and growth through Intelligent Agreement Management.The position is a people manager role reporting to the Vice President of Application Engineering.ResponsibilityLead and own portfolio of future-state, scaled, secure technology solutions, ensuring alignment with Docusign’s global standards and business objectivesLead strategy, architecture, design and development of modern Commerce, CPQ platformsDefine, design and deliver towards always-on, high-performance platforms and services that power our core business applications with deep expertise in cloud native, modern web and backend technologiesLead technology innovation with data & insights driven transformation of our process workflows and persona experiencesDrive the infusion of technology solutions with agentic experiences powered by AI/ML, practicing AI First mindset in a fast-paced, matrixed environmentDefine and champion the evolutionary roadmap for a unified, scalable integration architecture that breaks down system silos, unlocks time-to-valueAccelerate the organization's ability to execute future digital transformation initiatives at speed and enterprise scaleOwn Engineering Excellence by architecting a sustainable framework of technical best practices and standards to achieve technical rigor, reliability, accelerated delivery quality across the portfolioNurture experimental AI prototypes and quickly scale to a production-hardened, agentic enterprise ecosystemLead and develop the team to translate business requirements into a scalable Agentic development roadmapShape and define the global architecture and security standards for autonomous multi-agent frameworks (CrewAI, LangGraph) to ensure secure, deterministic execution in enterprise environmentsLead and upskill the broader Application Engineering organization, transforming a traditional development workforce into an AI-fluent engineering teamInfluence senior leaders, stakeholders, and motivate large diverse teams with effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skillsConduct technology research and development, proof-of-concept, experimentation of emerging technology trends, security standards for DTS to adopt and deliver Business outcomesManage and optimize spend, resources, and total cost to serve across engineering platformsLead engagements with platform vendors to influence their roadmap, SLA and performance adherence, obligationsLead high-performing engineering teams capable of end-to-end AI Agentic fullstack product design to delivery and support working closely with Application Product Management, Platform Engineering, Data Engineering, Release, Quality, Security, and DevOpsHire and develop high-caliber talents, skillsets to strengthen team technology expertise, innovationJob DesignationHybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. Docusign reserves the right to change a position's job designation depending on business needs and as permitted by local law.What you bringBasicBA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field15+ years of experience leading world-class product and engineering teams at global scaleDemonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teamsPreferredStrong understanding of business domain and applications landscapeExperience in leading high performing Application Engineering organizations, responsible for delivering global, large-scale, enterprise quality solutionsDeep domain knowledge in Commerce, CPQ, Marketing platforms design and developmentDeep expertise in modern frontend and backend technologies (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Angular, Node.js, Java, Python), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and microservices architectureHands-on design and build autonomous multi-agent frameworks (e.g., CrewAI, LangGraph) and scalable agentic platforms, RAG architecture, LLMs, focusing on distributed system architecture and secure execution environmentsLead Technical Feasibility Studies and rapid prototyping to provide the engineering foundation for "build vs. buy" architectural decisionsHands-on Applied Research & Prototyping to conduct AI research to translate theoretical GenAI advancements into production-ready software featuresStrong background in DevOps, CI/CD, automation, and site reliability engineering (SRE) practicesStrong problem-solving skills, strategic mindset, and a passion for delivering business value through technologyExperience managing day-to-day operations of large engineering organizationsWage TransparencyPay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:California: $284,400.00 - $423,475.00 base salaryThis Role Is Also Eligible For The FollowingBonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals.
