Varsity Softball - Assistant CoachLocation: Newton, MASeason Dates: March 9, 2026 - May 22, 2026Compensation: $3,000-$4,000 (commensurate with experience)Position OverviewThe school is seeking a Varsity Softball Assistant Coach for the Spring 2026 season. This role supports the Head Coach in all aspects of the varsity softball program, including practice planning, player development, and game preparation.The ideal candidate is passionate about softball, enjoys working with student-athletes, and is committed to fostering a competitive, mission-aligned team culture that reflects the values of Sacred Heart education and Falcon Athletics.ResponsibilitiesAssist in planning and leading daily practicesSupport player development, fundamentals, and position-specific skillsCoach during games and assist with strategy and game managementFoster a positive, inclusive, and competitive team environmentSupervise student-athletes during practices and competitionsCommunicate effectively with the Head Coach and athletic department staffPractice & Game ScheduleFrequency: 3-4 days per weekPractices and games primarily take place after school (specific times TBD)QualificationsSoftball coaching and/or playing experience preferredAbility to commit to a 3-4 day per week scheduleExperience working with high school athletes a plusStrong communication, leadership, and organizational skillsCommitment to student-athlete development and sportsmanship
