Billing Coordinator – ABA & Multidisciplinary Therapy
Location: Hybrid (Remote + In-Clinic as Needed)

As a startup ABA company, we are looking for an experienced Billing Coordinator who is excited to help build systems, improve workflows, and grow with our organization.
Position Summary
The Billing Coordinator will oversee the complete billing and revenue cycle for our ABA services while collaborating with our Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy teams to ensure accurate multidisciplinary billing. This role requires someone with extensive ABA billing experience, a strong understanding of Texas payer requirements, and the ability to work independently while partnering closely with our clinical and administrative teams.
This is primarily a remote position with occasional in-clinic hours for team meetings, training, workflow development, and collaboration.
Responsibilities
Review, process, submit, and reconcile all insurance claims accurately and efficiently.
Ensure timely claim submission, payment posting, denial management, and appeals.
Verify authorizations and ensure services are billed within approved limits.
Maintain compliance with payer-specific guidelines and documentation requirements.
Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding claims.
Work closely with BCBAs, RBTs, therapists, and administrative staff to resolve billing discrepancies.
Coordinate with therapists to ensure documentation supports medical necessity and meets payer requirements.
Review treatment notes for billing accuracy and compliance.
Understand and apply Texas Medicaid and commercial insurance billing requirements for ABA services.
Maintain current knowledge of Texas CPT coding guidelines, billing regulations, and payer policies related to ABA.
Assist with credentialing, payer enrollment, and startup billing workflows as needed.
Develop and improve billing processes, policies, and standard operating procedures.
Assist leadership with reporting on collections, denials, aging reports, and revenue cycle metrics.
Identify opportunities to improve reimbursement and reduce claim denials.
Support operational initiatives as our ABA program continues to grow.
Qualifications
Required
Minimum of 2-3 years of ABA billing experience.
Experience billing Texas Medicaid and commercial insurance plans.
Strong knowledge of Texas ABA CPT coding guidelines and payer requirements.
Experience managing the full revenue cycle, including:
Claims submission
Payment posting
Denials and appeals
Accounts receivable follow-up
Reconciliations
Experience with authorizations and insurance verification.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills with both clinical and administrative teams.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred
Experience billing within a multidisciplinary pediatric practice (ABA, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and/or Physical Therapy).
Knowledge of credentialing and payer enrollment.
Experience developing billing workflows and standard operating procedures.
Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and practice management software.
Advanced Excel or reporting skills.
Bilingual ( Spansih)

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
