As a Heavy Assembler, you’ll assemble mechanical units, fabricated parts/components subassemblies, assemblies, and complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous equipment. The Heavy Assembler will also fit, align, calibrate, and adjust parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements, and repair units or products that have failed to meet requirements.Job Location: Newton, IAWhat You’ll DoInsert and/or attach sub-assemblies with appropriate hardwareAttach complex sub-assemblies and/or parts with appropriate hardwareApply appropriate torque sequence and valuesRead and follow complex instructionsOperate mobile equipmentMaintain attendance within acceptable standards.What You’ll NeedTechnical Skills: Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools and hardware (i.e. bolts & nuts), ability to read and follow written instructions, electrical wiring experience and the ability to match-up sub-assembly to the final productCertifications: Applicable Torque Certification from ArcosaExperience: Up to 1 YearBe able to list and move up to 50 pounds frequentlyBe able to bend, twist and work out of normal working positions throughout the shiftWorking ConditionsWork environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds.This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidaysAbility to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plantSafety ActivitiesBe aware of and observe all safety practices.
