Design Project Manager

Position: Design Project ManagerLocation: Chicago, ILType: Fulltime, On-siteSummary:The company is seeking a qualified Design Project Manager to work with their architectural, engineering, or design/build teams.The Project Manager is the primary client contact and the single point of responsibility on the project level. This key position effectively plans, coordinates, and tracks all project related design activities in a manner that ensures successful project completion through adherence to project schedules, design budgets, programmatic requirements, cost expectations, and quality objectives.General Responsibilities:Prepare, negotiate and finalize contracts for architectural/engineering services or design/build servicesDeliver strategic and creative project solutions.Develop, implement and oversee a project plan for the completion of the scope of workCommunicate understanding of scope including complex technical items to client, contractors and design team in effective ways for them to understandDevelop and assure design schedules are maintainedForecast anticipated staffing resource requirementsSupport and coordinate interface between the design/build teamManage and control project financials to ensure project profitability. Enter and maintain financial information in the PM System.Oversee project invoicing and fee collectionMaintain and enhance client relationshipsDesired Skills and Experience:Experience working on complex industrial projects5 years of experience as a Project Manager leading multi-disciplinary design teamsBachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or construction ManagementKnowledge of basic accounting, budgeting, and cost allocation proceduresProject Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plusEffective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsDesign / Build experience preferredFood processing project experience preferred
