Machine BuilderThe Machine Builder is responsible for assembling, troubleshooting, and preparing automated equipment for shipment. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude and experience building production equipment using detailed engineering drawings and schematics.Key ResponsibilitiesAssemble formers, closers, loaders, and custom automation equipment used in food and packaging production linesRead and interpret SolidWorks drawings, mechanical schematics, and build documentationInstall mechanical components including drives, frames, guards, pneumatics, and motion assembliesTroubleshoot mechanical issues during equipment builds and work with engineering to resolve themComplete quality inspection checklists to ensure machines meet build specificationsSubmit Production Concerns and Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) when improvements are identifiedAssist with machine crating and shipment preparationMaintain a clean and organized workspace following 5S and safety standardsQualifications2-year Automated Packaging or Mechatronics degree OR equivalent hands-on experience assembling production or packaging equipmentExperience building machinery in food manufacturing, packaging equipment, automation, or processing environmentsComfortable using pneumatic tools, drills, saws, and precision hand toolsAbility to interpret mechanical drawings and assembly documentationBasic understanding of electrical and pneumatic schematicsStrong teamwork and communication skillsWork Environment90% of work performed on the manufacturing floorFrequent standing, bending, kneeling, and reachingBenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) retirement planPaid time offLife and disability insuranceAdditional voluntary benefits
