MAMMOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGIST-CASUAL

Mammography Technologist-Casual The Mammography Technologist operates radiologic equipment to produce radiographs of breast tissue for diagnostic purposes as directed by the radiologist. Essential Job Functions Collects pertinent data about the patient and procedure. Provides information to the patient about the procedure. Analyzes the information obtained during the assessment phase and determines optimal imaging parameters per diagnosis. Obtains optimum images during examination/procedure. Documents information about patient care, exams, and patient history in appropriate record. Facilitates correspondence with all departments to assure procedures are done in a timely manner. Maintains equipment and workstation in optimum condition. Implements downtime procedures when necessary. Attends department meetings or reviews meeting minutes. Promotes breast health in the community through participation in health fairs or other events. Other duties as assigned. Competency and Experience (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Required Qualifications/Experience Completion of a (JRCERT) accredited Radiologic Technology Program recognized by ARRT. Medical Terminology Preferred Qualifications/Experience Six (6) to twelve (12) months on the job experience to enhance knowledge of procedures and techniques. License, Certification & Clearances Current Registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program. Completion of advanced level examination in Mammography (RTM) within 18 months of hire or transfer. Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system Work Environment Effective March 2020 or during pandemic: goggles, face shield and mask are required according to CDC guidelines When lift requirement is in excess of 50#, lift assistance (2 person) and/or transfer device is required.
