Principal Substation Engineer

Job Description:Lead the engineering effort for new and ongoing substation projects.Support multiple projects simultaneously.Work closely with NV5 Substation Engineering leadership to ensure project success.Work in small project teams to provide exceptional customer service and quality in deliverables.Requirements:15+ years of experience in the Substation/Power Delivery field.Experience with high voltage substation design (12kV through 500kV).Ability to interpret and apply standards including IEEE, IEC, NESC, and client standards.Strong preference for those with excellent written and verbal communication, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, great organizational skills, proactive and forward-thinking individuals.Experience with power system calculations (AC station service, DC battery sizing, and Voltage Drop/Cable Selection) is a plus.Experience with relay settings is a plus.Knowledge of substation physical equipment is a plus.Knowledge of Protection and Controls design is a must.B.S.
