This role involves direct patient interaction, administrative support, and collaboration with clinical staff to deliver excellent patient care and service.Essential FunctionsPatient Interaction and Support:Greet and welcome patients upon arrivalAssist patients with check-in and check-out processesProvide information on clinic policies, procedures, and servicesAnswer patient phone calls and address inquiries promptly and professionallySchedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring optimal appointment utilizationMonitor schedules for patient cancellations and follow-up with patients that need to rescheduleAdministrative Duties:Maintain and update patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) systemCoordinate referrals, diagnostic tests, and follow-up appointmentsVerify patient insurance information and manage prior authorization processesHandle billing and payment processes, including collection of co-pays and outstanding balancesPrepare and manage patient forms and documentationOther duties as assigned by the practice administratorCommunication and Coordination:Serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and other staff membersCommunicate effectively with clinical staff to ensure patient needs are metFacilitate communication regarding patient care plans and instructionsCustomer Service:Always maintain a high standard of customer service and professionalismAddress patient complaints and escalate issues to management when necessaryStrive to create a positive and supportive environment for patients and their familiesCompliance and Confidentiality:Adhere to all healthcare regulations and privacy laws, including HIPAAEnsure patient confidentiality and security of sensitive informationFollow clinic policies and procedures to maintain compliance with healthcare standardsQualificationsEducation:High school diploma or equivalency requiredExperience:Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in patient coordination or administrative roles, is preferredProficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other office softwareKnowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements in healthcarePerformance Requirements:Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrentlyExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-centered approachApproachable, professional demeanorDetail-oriented and thorough in task executionAbility to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environmentTeam player with excellent collaboration skillsDISCLAIMERThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by people assigned to this work.
