This role oversees all aspects of division operations including financial performance, strategic planning, team development, and ensuring alignment with Helix Traffic Solutions' corporate objectives. The General Manager serves as the senior leader for the division, driving growth, profitability, and operational efficiency while fostering a culture of safety, excellence, and continuous improvement.Strategic Leadership and PlanningLead the development of annual division budgets and business plans to achieve financial and operational targetsOversee strategic planning initiatives at the division level, ensuring alignment with overall company directionIdentify and evaluate new business opportunities, market expansion, and strategic partnershipsProvide oversight and leadership for all division operations, ensuring efficient and effective service deliveryMonitor and optimize operational processes to improve quality, efficiency, and customer satisfactionOversee all branch operations within the division, ensuring consistent standards and performanceLead process improvement efforts and implementation of best practices across all operational areasEnsure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policiesFinancial Management and PerformanceDevelop and manage division budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to achieve profitability targetsConduct regular financial reviews and develop strategic planning for cost reduction and revenue optimizationMonitor key performance indicators and financial metrics to drive business decisionsCollaborate with corporate finance team on financial reporting, analysis, and strategic initiativesEnsure accurate financial controls and accountability across all division operationsLeadership Development and Team ManagementProvide leadership and direction to division leadership team and management staffOversee leadership development programs and implementation to build organizational capabilityProvide constructive and timely performance evaluations for direct reportsCoordinate with corporate HR, Finance, and Safety departments to ensure alignment and consistency in policies and proceduresStakeholder ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with key customers, vendors, and business partnersRepresent the division in corporate meetings, industry events, and community activitiesCollaborate with other division General Managers to share best practices and drive company-wide initiativesServe as primary liaison between division operations and corporate leadershipManage escalated customer issues and maintain high levels of customer satisfactionDrive revenue growth through new customer acquisition and existing customer expansionDevelop and maintain strategic partnerships and business relationshipsBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or related fieldMinimum 10-15 years of progressive leadership experience in operations, construction, or related industriesMinimum 5-7 years of experience in senior management or leadership rolesProven track record of managing P&L responsibility and achieving financial targetsLeadership and Management SkillsStrong strategic thinking and business planning capabilitiesExcellent decision-making skills and ability to manage complex business challengesProven experience in organizational development and change managementStrong financial acumen and experience with budget development and financial analysisKnowledge of traffic control, construction, or related industry operationsProficiency in business software applications and financial reporting systemsUnderstanding of regulatory requirements and compliance in construction/traffic control industriesExperience with multi-location operations and geographic expansionAbility to travel frequently to branch locations and customer sites (up to 50%)Prolonged periods sitting in meetings and working on a computerAbility to work in various weather conditions when visiting job sitesOccasional lifting of materials and equipment up to 40 poundsProfessional office environment with frequent travel to field locationsStandard business hours with additional time required for evening and weekend business activitiesExposure to construction and traffic control environments during site visitsFast-paced environment requiring ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
