Cape Fox subsidiary Concentric Methods LLC is accepting resumes for Psychiatric Technicians to support the Ft. Bliss. Incumbents are encouraged to apply. The total hourly pay for this non-exempt position ($31.20 per hour for up to 40 hours per week) is comprised of a base hourly rate of$ 26.11 plus$5.09 per hour Health & Welfare (H&W) for up to 40 hours per week as required by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS) regulations The above rate represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. This job will be posted until filled or withdrawn. Core duties: Conduct or assistin treatment and rehabilitation of patients. Performinitial basic assessment procedures including standardized psychological testing, clinical interviewing, mental status examinations, substance abuse evaluations, and psychological assessments. Identifymental health and nursing diagnoses, provide patient education, and group education. Provide patient education in coordination with the mental health and nursing diagnosis. Observe, monitor, record, and report patient's progress. Conduct or assistin conducting group and individual counseling, therapeutic community, and otherrelated milieu activities. Institute precautionary measures to prevent patient injury or suicide. Assistpatients with nutritional, hygiene, and comfort measures. Obtain and record vital signs. Coordinate with other agencies regardingspecified care, treatment, prevention, rehabilitation, and administrative functions. Contact military and community agencies to obtain collateral information. Explain and interpret mental health services to patients or others Assistin, or arrange patient referralto public, private, and military community agencies. Prepare and maintainrecords and reports pertaining tospecialty services. Assistwith careof individuals experiencing acute and post-traumatic stress reactions. Prepare and maintaintreatment records For Inpatient Care for Acute Psychiatric and Intermediate Units: Assist in initial intake assessments and triage interviews. Assist in counseling and orient patients to the unit procedures and policies. Perform ward searches; monitor use of dangerous items. Answer telephone calls and relay pertinent information to providers if required. Assist in a variety of treatment modalities including but not limited to biofeedback, stress management, and group therapy. Coordinate and perform routine training in prevention and management of assaultive behavior. Assist with patient education. Perform routine ward procedures for admission, discharges, and patient transfers. Monitor patient safety; be able to do physical restraint procedures such as applying manual and mechanical restraints. Manage agitated patients; identify and report symptoms of homicidal or suicidal patient; perform line of sight one-on-one observations. Understand the rules of confidentiality as applies to patient and health care provider during all aspects of care; instruct personnel in psychiatric patient rights. For Outpatient Care: Perform ongoing risk assessment; assist in maintaining therapeutic milieu. Transcribe physician's orders. Develop a therapeutic relationship with psychiatric patients; observe patient progress during treatment. Organize and facilitate patient groups and activities. Escort patients safely on and off the unit, know the patient management for elopement risks; take patients out on field trips. Monitor patient safety; be able to do physical restraint procedures such as applying manual and mechanical restraints. Manage agitated patients; identify and report symptoms of homicidal or suicidal patient; perform line of sight one-on-one observations. Maintain all records required on patients to include data entry and retrieval on CHCS and CIS computer systems. Perform a range of diagnostic support duties which include but is not limited to drawing blood for lab studies; collect and label specimens; take vital signs; and assist the doctor in a variety of diagnostic examinations. Understand the rules of confidentiality as applied to patient and health care provider during all aspects of care; instruct personnel in psychiatric patient rights. Respond to emergency situations within area of competence and initiate appropriate action and documentation (restraint calls, fire calls, and disaster situations). Monitor and discontinue IV fluids as directed if certified. Operate the outpatient front desk areas; assist patients with questions and information; offer courteous and attentive assistance. Coordinate and assist the Primary Care Provider in contacting patients who miss appointments. Ensure that all records are properly maintained, constructed, and secured in a controlled access area. Dispose of the Secondary Convenience Record after maintaining for three years. Prepare and pull all outpatient records for scheduled appointments. Perform End of Day processing in accordance with local instructions. Perform psychiatric testing/screening evaluations if certified and as directed.
