Currently, we are seeking experts in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi & Louisiana.As we continue to expand, we’re seeking a part-time Structural Engineering Expert to join our growing forensic team. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about applying their technical expertise to real-world investigations and expert analysis. This expert should be well versed in the evaluation, analysis, and design of structural systems, including foundations, framing systems, concrete, steel, masonry, and wood construction. The ideal candidate should have experience evaluating structural distress, damage, deterioration, construction defects, and failures, and should remain current with applicable building codes, industry standards, and evolving construction practices. The SFE team combines decades of experience with cutting-edge technology to assess site conditions, identify risks, and resolve disputes. Across all of our practice areas, successful applicants should pride themselves on delivering reports and testimony that is thorough, reliable, and easy to understand. Prior forensic experience is not required.Desired ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural EngineeringActive Professional Engineer (PE) license, Structural Engineer (SE) license preferredExtensive experience in structural engineering, analysis, design, and evaluation (20+ years)Strong knowledge of building codes, structural standards, and construction practicesExperience evaluating structural damage, deficiencies, construction defects, and/or failuresAbility to evaluate causation, scope of damage, and appropriate repair recommendationsStrong analytical, technical writing, and communication skillsPay StructureThis is a part-time role. Contractors are paid an hourly rate, between $150/hr and $300/hr, based on their qualifications and the nature of the work required.
