This role involves supervising Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees, while delivering superior patient care.Responsibilities Conducts nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop tailored care plans. Identifies teaching needs and collaborates with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team. Documents all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record. Participates in the patient rehabilitation program and prioritizes patient education based on identified health care needs. Initiates patient discharge planning from admission, including early patient teaching. Communicates significant patient status changes to ensure continuity of care and patient safety. Provides direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing staff, ensuring efficient operations. Maintains a safe environment by following hospital and nursing safety protocols. Engages in professional development through continuing education and self-study. Participates in team building activities to foster a positive work environment.Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure BLS Certification required prior to the first shift. ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY). Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required. Experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is required.
