Engineer

Overview As a member of the operations team, the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned. The role focuses on critical testing primarily for aerospace customers, ensuring timely and accurate test results. The Engineer collaborates with other departments to develop custom test solutions spanning multiple disciplines to support customer needs. Salary: $65,000 - $105,000/hr DOE Responsibilities Mechanical aptitude and experience troubleshooting complex machinery or equipment. Working knowledge of dynamics, vibration, and shock theory and related systems. Skills / Qualifications Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to work on well-defined issues, standard and/or routine tests, without significant guidance or supervision. Initiative and ability to work independently without waiting for further instruction. Ability to decide on and implement appropriate testing methods and protocols. Leadership skills: leads and assigns work of others when needed. Strong analytical/technical knowledge to impact overall laboratory technical capabilities and services. Can manage job priority and time in accordance with targets/goals set by supervisor. Under close guidance of advanced Engineers, works on well-delineated technical issues including standard and routine analysis. Experience impacts day-to-day technical decisions for timely delivery of laboratory testing services and customer support. Recognized by colleagues within the lab as possessing strong technical knowledge. Demonstrated ability to apply an array of testing techniques in a rational and practical style to examine issues and build solutions.
