Grant Manager

GRANTS MANAGER SummaryGrants come in all shapes and sizes, and we apply for them all – from the simple one-page applications to story-rich proposals, to multi-year federal contracts. We are looking for someone to oversee all proposal submissions and to personally lead the submission and monitoring of the more complex and technical applications. Excellent writing skills, comfort drafting and handling a budget spreadsheet, excellent time management, and ability to adapt to a variety of grant platforms such as Fluxx, Grant Solutions etc. and digital interfaces are required.This position will work closely with all Program Directors and Managers on the fulfillment of key funding opportunities, supporting successful prioritization, match-making funding opportunities with current needs, and helping others develop budgets that cover both direct and indirect programming costs. This position reports to the Philanthropy Director.This is a full-time, hybrid position at 40 hours/week.A Cover Letter is required with your application.Essential Job DutiesWork collaboratively to identify and log proposal opportunities Qualify and prioritize grant opportunities Continuously improve organizational best practices regarding the process for opportunity identification, proposal development, submission, and reporting including opportunity management within our Salesforce CRM Lead the submission and tracking of all grant proposals and agreements Coordinate efficient evaluation and reporting deliverables and requirements for funded proposals, delegating and sharing responsibilities with other staff as appropriate Communicate about awarded grants with the Accounting team per their proceduresWork collaboratively on the annual creation of boilerplate language and standard attachments for private funders, corporations, and government agencies Work proactively and collaboratively with Program Directors to generate new opportunities Other duties as assigned QualificationsMinimum of 3 years of direct Grants management experience. Proposal development and/or management of federal funding is a plus Grantor or grantee experience with government agencies is desired Excellent verbal and written communication skills – ability to write to a wide variety of audiences Ability to manage and keep track of many deadlines utilizing a CRM database (Salesforce) Ability to delegate effectively and demonstrated excellence in follow through Experience with literature reviews and data synthesization is desired Budget development experience; federally derived or other complex budgeting is a plus Natural inclination to proactively build relationships, including with strangers, is a plusFamiliarity with Contact Management databases and Salesforce is a plus Other RequirementsFamiliarity with Google suite (Gmail, Drive, Calendar) Familiarity with narrative document formatting and editing systems Familiarity with spreadsheets and basic equations Experience with process/project managementAbility to work hours outside of traditional 8 AM – 5 PM business hours, on occasion Self-motivated/Independent worker Genuine curiosity and capacity to ask for helpStrong and clear communication with co-workers and SEEDS team members Desire to work within an ever evolving and growing organization Must be able to pass all required background checks CompensationSalary range: $56 - 60,000 dependent on experience Health Reimbursement Account, paid time off, and retirement benefits Flexible scheduling and hybrid work environment Mission-driven work and a supportive team-based work environment SEEDS Ecology & Education Centers is an Equal Opportunity employer.
