Licensed Vocational Nurse (Forensics)

Overview Licensed Vocational Nurse (Forensics) Permian Basin Behavioral Health Center Midland, Texas The behavioral health LVN provides direct patient care, administers medications, monitors vital signs, and performs basic patient assessments under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician. They also help with patient education, assist with daily activities, and document patient data to support treatment planning for individuals with mental and emotional health needs. Job duties and responsibilities: • Monitor and document patient behavior, progress, and responses to treatment. • Administer prescribed medications, including psychotropic medications, changes bandages, and notes patient reactions. • Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and hygiene. • Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate). • Conducts focused patient assessments, collects data, and documents it in patient charts for the supervising nurses, physicians. • Works with other staff, such as psychiatrists, to help implement treatment plans. • Facilitate group therapy sessions or recreational activities. • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
