OVERVIEWFlag Star Football Foundation seeks a Director of Partnerships & Development to lead and grow fundraising, including sponsorships, corporate partnerships and smaller-dollar donationsThis role will focus on building relationships with corporate partners, foundations, and families within our community to support the Flag Star Football Foundation. The Director will help identify new opportunities, develop partnership proposals, and manage ongoing relationships that drive both revenue and impact.This is a full-time, high-impact role with flexibility and potential to expand as partnerships grow.ABOUT FLAG STAR FOOTBALLFlag Star Football is a fun, high-functioning and value-driven youth sports league. We believe in the power of flag football not just for fun, but as a vehicle for modeling and teaching the values and change we’d like to see in the world.In 2026, the league will process ~20,000 registrations while also providing 2,000+ scholarships through our Foundation.The Flag Star Football Foundation also operates free after-school programs, as well as school-based health and physical education programs, for approximately 800 underserved children each season.ABOUT THIS ROLEThis is a great role for someone who enjoys relationship-building, storytelling, and creating opportunities that connect mission with resources.The ideal candidate is both:A relationship-builder who can engage partners and represent the organization wellA strategic thinker who can identify opportunities and help grow sustainable revenue streamsAn organized, action‑oriented professional who executes plans effectively and meets deadlinesYOUR IMPACTPartnership DevelopmentIdentify, research, and prioritize prospective corporate sponsors and partners aligned with Flag Star’s missionConduct proactive outreach (email, calls, networking) to generate new partnership opportunitiesDevelop customized partnership proposals, pitch decks, and sponsorship packages tailored to each partnerCollaborate on creative partnership ideas that provide value to both Flag Star and the partnerSupport grant research, identify funding opportunities, and assist in drafting or coordinating submissionsMaintain and update a pipeline of prospective partners and track outreach effortsCreate data‑driven materials for donors, including metrics on program participation, athlete pathways, and impact stories Relationship ManagementBuild and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing partners and sponsorsServe as a primary point of contact for partner communication and engagementEnsure all partnership deliverables, benefits, and activations are executed at a high levelCoordinate with internal teams (operations, marketing, events) to fulfill partnership commitmentsMonitor partner satisfaction and proactively identify opportunities to deepen relationshipsSupport renewal conversations and help secure ongoing partnershipsManage and support the Board of Directors, including communication, meeting preparation, and follow‑through on development‑related priorities SPONSORSHIPSLead the development, refinement, and execution of Flag Star’s sponsorship strategyBuild and maintain a structured sponsorship pipeline, including seasonal and year‑round opportunitiesCreate and update sponsorship packages, pricing, and benefit structuresCoordinate sponsor activations across programs, events, and community initiativesTrack sponsorship performance, deliverables, and fulfillment to ensure high‑quality executionIdentify new sponsorship categories and long‑term revenue opportunitiesCollaborate with leadership to ensure sponsorships align with organizational goals and brand standardsFUNDRAISING & STRATEGYDesign and execute fundraising campaigns, including setting targets for revenue needs and reserve goalsHelp develop and refine overall partnership and sponsorship strategyIdentify new revenue streams and partnership opportunities to support organizational growthTrack and analyze partnership performance, revenue, and outreach metricsMaintain organized records of partnerships, contacts, and deal progressAssist in setting and working toward fundraising and partnership goalsDevelop and manage donor plans, including monthly giving options for parents and community membersDefine and maintain clear eligibility criteria for financial aid, ensuring transparency and consistencyOversee the full lifecycle of Foundation Day, including planning, securing sponsors, partner engagement, logistics, and event‑day executionYOUR EXPERIENCEExperience in partnerships, fundraising, sales, or business developmentStrong communication and relationship-building skillsAbility to work independently and drive initiatives forwardExperience with youth sports, nonprofits, or community organizations is a plusYOUR COMPETENCIESStrong relationship-building and interpersonal skillsExcellent written and verbal communication abilitiesConfident in outreach, networking, and initiating conversationsOrganized with strong attention to detail and follow-throughAbility to manage multiple priorities and long-term pipelinesStrategic thinker with the ability to identify growth opportunitiesAbility to connect mission to value when engaging potential partnersSelf-starter who can work independently and drive initiatives forwardAbility to work in-person Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Flag Star Office (Hyattsville, MD) and adapt to a dynamic and non-traditional work schedule (including weekend events).
