Respite Worker (Part-time)

We are hiring compassionate and dedicated adults to provide mentoring/respite services to at-risk children and adolescents in Mahoning and Trumbull Counties. Hours are flexible, part-time only. The ideal candidate will have professional, educational and/or personal experience with challenging behaviors, emotional needs and/or developmental disabilities. Duties - Provides individualized supervision, guidance and emotional support to clients in home, office and community-based settings -Assists clients by modeling appropriate social interactions and problem solving/conflict resolution skills -Enhances clients' self-esteem, and motivation to achieve, through relationship building with a focus on trust and consistency -Encourages client to engage in social activities, explore new hobbies and interests, links families with community resources to improve overall health, transports clients to/from activities to eliminate barriers -Participates actively as a member of client's "team", communicates progress in a timely manner and provides advocacy as needed Qualifications - HS Diploma or GED required -Must be able to pass background check, pre-employment physical and drug screen -MUST have reliable transportation and have clean driving record -Certification in CPR is preferred -Strong communication, interpersonal skills and patience is highly valued!
