Design Assistant- Kitchen & Bath_
Job DescriptionTraining for this role will be provided. The Design Assistant will assist the Cabinet Design team in estimating, ordering, drawing, and any other administrative tasks as assigned.Responsibilities:+ Provide inside support to our Cabinet Design team.+ Assist in pricing for estimates/quotes and orders of cabinets, countertops, and hardware.+ Ability to take measurements and read construction drawings.+ Review vendor acknowledgments and assist with cabinet orders.+ Communicate with subcontractors, Project Manager’s, and/or homeowners on an as-need basis.+ Establish and maintain relationships with vendors.+ Effectively perform clerical duties as required.+ Keep product samples organized and available.+ Assist with project management; attend client meetings and manage design process from layout to ordering to installation.+ Work with the Cabinet Design team to design and develop kitchen layouts within the parameters of the clients’ space and budget.+ Learn to create cabinet designs in 20/20.Requirements:+ Associate or bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.+ A minimum of 1-3 years in related field is preferred.+ Excellent customer service skills.+ Detail-oriented, with the ability to interpret project and plan specifications. Willing to train the right candidate.+ Flexible and adaptable to a high paced work environment.+ Ability to adjust quickly to new or changing assignments, processes, and personnel.+ Ability to maintain professional conduct under pressure.+ Superior organizational skills.+ Some knowledge of the kitchen design process preferred.+ Ability to prioritize when given multiple tasks.+ Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.+ Basic drawing or architectural skills in CAD or 20/20 strongly preferred.Physical Requirements:+ This is largely a sitting role; however, some standing, and movement is required. This includes the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand, as necessary.
