This is a hands on role within a sophisticated and active practice that includes a mix of civil litigation and business related work, with opportunities to handle both dispute driven and transactional matters depending on experience and interest.The Atlanta group handles a busy and diverse docket that includes defense litigation, commercial disputes, construction and transportation matters, insurance related work, and representation of business and development clients.Responsibilities• Handle a diverse caseload including personal injury, wrongful death, commercial disputes, construction and property claims, insurance defense, and transportation litigation• Represent regional and national clients, including insurers, transportation companies, real estate and development clients, and commercial businesses• Participate in all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, hearings, mediation, and trial preparation• Assist with contract review, business agreements, and other transactional or advisory work as it arises within the practice• Work directly with partners and clients in a collaborative, team driven environment• Take ownership of assignments and contribute to an active and growing practice groupQualifications• Experience in civil litigation, commercial litigation, insurance defense, construction, transportation, or related practice areas preferred• Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills• Ability to manage responsibilities in a fast paced practice• Interest in developing a broad practice that may include both litigation and business or transactional workPreferred Experience• Deposition, hearing, or motion practice experience• Background in defense litigation, commercial litigation, or construction related matters• Experience working with business clients, insurers, or transportation related clients• Interest in both litigation and transactional workCompensation and Benefits• Competitive salary based on experience, background, and overall fit• Bonus opportunities and full benefits package• Meaningful responsibility and direct mentorship• Opportunity to work on complex matters within a well established and growing firmEqual Opportunity StatementGalloway Johnson Tompkins Burr & Smith is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to maintaining a diverse and inclusive workplace.Learn more about our firm and career opportunities herehttps://gallowaylawfirm.com/careers/
