Job Overview:Search Solution Group is seeking an Assistant Director of Benefits and Wellness on behalf of our client, a prominent cultural institution dedicated to modern and contemporary art. This role is critical to supporting a diverse, complex workforce by overseeing benefits, wellness, leave administration, and pension programs while ensuring compliance with New York labor and benefits laws. The Assistant Director will serve as a trusted resource across the organization, balancing operational excellence with cultural alignment and long-term employee well-being.Key Responsibilities:Oversee and administer multiple employee benefit, wellness, and pension plansManage high-volume leave administration across a diverse employee populationEnsure compliance with New York labor and benefits laws and applicable regulationsSupport benefits administration for both unionized and non-unionized employee groupsServe as a key advisor for navigating complex or gray-area benefits and leave scenariosPartner with internal stakeholders to align benefits and wellness programs with organizational needsCommunicate benefits-related information clearly and effectively to employees at all levelsMonitor and continuously improve benefits processes in a fast-paced, evolving environmentBalance competing priorities and make sound judgment calls when all requests cannot be prioritized equallySupport wellness initiatives that promote employee engagement and long-term well-being Requirements include: Education:Bachelor's degree requiredAdvanced degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred Experience:Significant experience administering benefits and wellness programs in complex organizationsExperience working with unionized populations and multiple benefit and pension plansExperience managing high-volume leave administrationBackground in fast-paced environments where priorities shift frequently Skills:Strong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational and prioritization abilitiesSound judgment and decision-making skills, particularly in ambiguous situationsAbility to manage sensitive matters with discretion and professionalismCollaborative and consultative approach to problem-solving Certifications:Professional HR or benefits certifications (e.g., CEBS, SHRM, SPHR) preferred Knowledge:Strong working knowledge of New York labor and benefits lawsBenefits administration, leave management, and pension plan operationsBest practices for employee wellness programsHR policies and compliance in unionized environments Key Competencies:Cultural alignment and intellectual curiosityAdaptability and flexibility in a changing environmentStrong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate across diverse employee groupsSolutions-oriented mindsetAbility to build trust and credibility with employees and leadershipLong-term, strategic thinking balanced with day-to-day operational execution How to Apply:To apply for this position, please click the "Apply" button at the top right of your screen.
