Talascend is currently seeking a Mechanical Reliability Engineer for a direct hire opportunity with our client near Mobile, AL.OverviewThe ideal candidate will provide maintenance engineering service through Maintenance and Reliability processes within the highly automated Finish Mill to meet the business goals.ResponsibilitiesProvides maintenance engineering service for the maintenance teamInitiates and facilitates root cause analysis of equipment failures and major breakdownsIdentifies and proposes solutions for repeat equipment failures and unplanned downtime eventsParticipates in execution of critical equipment inspections and analysisAnalyzes equipment data, recommended maintenance plans, drawings, etc.Writes technically based equipment maintenance plansPerforms tracking and trending of equipment maintenance performanceReviews drawings and technical documentationAssists in the development and implementation of policies, standards and procedures for the mechanical and technical work performed in the departmentPrepares and presents reports and findings by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trendsPrepares and attends daily meetings and briefings on the maintenance and production situationPrepares data on cost, availability, and quality situationTroubleshoots, adjusts, and helps maintain machinery and mechanical equipmentObserves safety, reviews accident/incident reports and assists in investigations as requiredCoordinates, trains, and leads maintenance technicians for special tasks and responsibilitiesLeads, supports, participates in, and develops improvement programs and project groupsSupports management in optimizing quality, cost, availability, and performance of equipmentQualificationsBachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering3+ years' heavy industrial experienceRequirementsDemonstrated knowledge of Mechanical Engineering practicesKnowledge of heavy industrial equipment maintenanceTechnical knowledge of rotational equipment, such as mechanical power transmission, drive shafts, bearings, couplings, rollers, conveyorsKnowledge of hydraulic systems, i.e., cylinders, servo valves, piping, hose connections, filtrationKnowledge of lubrication systems, such as centralized oil and grease systems, lubrication practicesAble to perform data analysis on equipment performanceExperience using AutoCADProficient with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)Demonstrated knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) practicesKnowledge of Predictive Maintenance techniques and analysisFamiliarity with RCFA, Cause Mapping, Kaizen problem solving methodologiesProficiency in writing technical proposals and communications at multiple levels of the organizationExperience using SAP preferredSteel Manufacturing experience preferredAbility to interact with multiple stakeholders, work in small and large teamsWillingness to work directly with hourly technicians and contractors closely to affect proper work practices and successful work executionDemonstrates strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to facilitate and lead meetings efficiently and effectivelyLogical and critical thinking mindset when addressing problemsAnticipates and adopts innovations in business-building digital and technology applicationsBuilds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectivesKnows the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvementDemonstrate the company values of Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Relationships, and SustainabilityFulfill the commitment to ensure a safe and healthy work environmentFulfill the responsibilities required to achieve the Quality CommitmentDemonstrate commitment to teamwork by fostering an environment that embodies trust and respect#ind123We thank all applicants for their interest.
