Job DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Albany, Georgia.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: ED - Emergency DepartmentDiscipline: RNStart Date: 06/08/2026Duration: 17 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, eveningsEmployment Type: TravelAssignment OverviewShift: Evenings, 3x12hrsHours: 36 hrs/wkStart Date: Jun 8, 2026Length: 17 weeksOpenings: 1DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 17-week Emergency Center travel assignment requiring 5+ years of experience, MEDITECH proficiency, and a valid GA or compact RN license.DetailsWork setting is an acute care hospital Emergency Center with approximately 180–200 patient visits per dayPatient population spans pediatrics to geriatrics, including trauma, CVA, neuro, and orthopedic cases; facility is a designated CVA centerNo burns are treated or held at this facility; some neuro trauma cases are transferred out6-bed behavioral health lockdown area staffed by psychiatry is part of the unitPatient ratio is 1:4Nurse aides and paramedics (5–6 per shift) are present each shiftSecurity personnel and safety sitters are available; behavioral health patients are held in the main ER until admittedCentral monitoring tech support availableVented patients may be held in the ER until admitted; 24/7 respiratory therapy dedicated to the ERIn-department pharmacy coverage 11 hours per day with 24/7 on-campus pharmacy supportNurses are responsible for their own lab draws and IV starts12-hour evening shifts, 3:00 PM – 3:00 AMEvery other weekend requiredEvery other holiday requiredCharting system is MEDITECH 6.15; experience is requiredRequirementsActive GA or compact RN license requiredMinimum 5 years of ED nursing experience requiredAt least 1 prior travel assignment requiredRequired certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS (or ASLS), and CPIMEDITECH experience requiredDriver's license required for considerationAdditional InformationOrientation consists of 2 shifts and must be completed within the first week of the assignmentCandidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this positionCandidates who have been employed by the facility within the last 12 months are not eligibleScrub color required: Caribbean Blue onlyCharge nurses are present on the unitTime-off requests are only honored if submitted and approved prior to the start of the assignmentHoliday coverage is required on an every-other basisAmerican Traveler Job ID #P-708496.
