Accounting Specialist

Position Summary: This position is responsible for banking transactional activity, payment runs, associate expense reporting and system management, managing corporate credit card program, banking reconciliations and accounting for cash transactions. This position generates a high volume of transactions on a daily basis. This position requires a high degree of customer service capabilities to assist group companies with varying needs. Seeking a candidate who embraces continuous learning and is open to project work.Essential Position Duties: Banking ResponsibilitiesProcess wire transfer requestPrepare payment runsPrepare intercompany paymentsSet-up wire and ACH templatesMonitor bank balancesTrouble shoot banking issuesConsolidate group company international payment filesProvide customer service assistance to group company with banking issuesPrepare annual 1099 and T4A tax forms for multiple companiesMaintain strong relationships with banking entitiesAssist in new bank account set-upsAccounting responsibilitiesUpdate, verify and maintain accounting journals and ledgers and other financial records for cashAssist in month end closing and reportingFind and use accounting data to resolve accounting problems and discrepancies within cashLead expense reporting system and process (Concur)Maintain corporate credit cards and monthly statementsLiaison with other departments/customers/vendorsBank statement owner and reconcilerMaintain fixed asset accountsConduct physical inventory of assetsEducation, Experience & SkillsBachelor’s degree in accounting3-5 years' experience in clerical accountingProficiency in Microsoft OfficeWorking knowledge of SAPKnowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures (GAAP) and IFRSKey competencies include: planning and organizing, attention to detail, problem-solving, teamwork, written and verbal communication skills, and a customer service orientationPhysical Requirements / Working ConditionsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to drive safely and valid driver’s license required. Possibly two international trips may be required; therefore, a valid passport is required.
