Job Title: Content DirectorLocation: Near East Windsor and Cranford, NJ / HybridReports to: Chief Marketing OfficerType: Temporary Contract Term: Immediately through January 2027 The Impact You’ll MakeOur Content Director is the driving force behind our top priority of elevating our content this year to better reflect our brand quality and voice. As we upgrade digital assets, re-write product descriptions, develop new video, and support creative needs across the organization, the Content Director manages workflow to achieve priority deadlines and resource efficiency.This is a temporary contract role designed to support the business during a leave of absence, while also providing an exciting opportunity to help build a best-in-class omni-channel content engine and participate directly in an exciting brand refresh for 2027. What You’ll DoOversee production of all product and brand imagery, packaging, video, and copy contentManage creative workflows to ensure on-time delivery aligned with seasonal timelines , and optimize content development pipeline to mitigate delays and errorsBuild and manage a strong network of creative talent, including graphic designers, videographers, photographers, copywriters and creative agencies.Manage a team of content creators, designers, and copywriters—providing creative direction, feedback, and mentorship.Drive content efficiency: Scale the volume of high-quality, brand-consistent content being produced while carefully managing budgetEnsure high-quality copywriting that meets our product listing and search engine requirements to drive conversion.Deploy AI wisely to drive cost and time efficiency without undermining content quality.Oversee development of retail-ready content (titles, bullets, A+, images, video, etc) that drives conversion and SEO Partner with Sales and agency partners to develop high-performing ad creative (Sponsored Ads, DSP, paid social, etc.) Ensure alignment between creative assets and media strategy to maximize ROAS Deliver cohesive content for all DTC touchpoints, including website, email, social media, paid media, and packaging.Collaborate with brand and sales to align content with product launches, seasonal promotions, and brand initiatives.Ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints, from Instagram reels to product detail pages.Plan and follow a detailed content strategy and scheduleSet, update, and oversee our in-house style guideEnsure consistent brand storytelling while allowing for channel-specific optimization (Amazon, Walmart, DTC, etc.) Ensure content aligns with retailer requirements while maximizing visibility, search rank, and conversion Support key initiatives such as Wayfair Verified, Amazon A+, Exclusives, and bundles What You’ll Bring5+ years in Creative, Content, or Brand leadership roles Experience in consumer goods, retail, or eCommerce environments Bachelor’s degree preferredExperience in seasonal and lifestyle brands a plusStrong portfolio demonstrating conversion-focused creative and brand storytelling Experience managing multi-channel content (marketplaces + DTC) Project management experienceProven ability to lead creative teams, including external vendors and agency partners, and scale creative output Strong understanding of eCommerce platforms, social media trends, and digital storytelling, and a portfolio showcasing your ability to balance brand storytelling with performance-driven content.Comfort with analytics tools to inform creative decisions.Portfolio of SEO-aligned and well-written online content Ability to stay up to date with and ahead of industry-based content standardsStrong grasp of spelling, grammar, and formatting conventions· Results-driven with strong organizational, time management/prioritization, critical thinking and problem-solving skills · Collaborative style with effective communication and the ability to balance teamwork with independent accountability· Ability to build and manage strong relationships cross-functionally, with leadership and external stakeholders· Proficiency in Microsoft office and various tools, including Canva, digital asset management systems (eg Brandfolder), and exposure/some experience with project management (eg SmartSheet or Microsoft Project), ERP and reporting systems (eg Netsuite, PowerBI)· Experience with AI for marketing purposes a bonus· Organizational and savvy prioritization skills that enable you to be nimble and take on a breadth of work efficiently.· Critical thinking and adept problem-solving skills How You’ll Measure SuccessImproved brand sentiment, increased brand awareness and expansion of audience engagementImproved content efficiency and creative performance metrics (CTR, ROAS, CVR).Sales growth across channelsIncreased consumer retention and repeat ratesImproved customer satisfaction scores, reviews and ratingsWhy You’ll Love It HereYou get to work with brands that are making it easy for anyone to transform the places and spaces where people come together to celebrate holidays, seasonal events and meaningful moments.
