These schools are designed to grow demand, deepen engagement, and support thoughtful tuition growth through differentiated experiences.Head of School RoleThe Head of School is the chief leader, culture carrier, and on-site ambassador of a Destination School.This role blends operational excellence with market-facing leadership. The Head of School is expected to be a builder: nurturing the school's identity, growing community excitement, and executing a distinctive educational vision—while operating within Fractal's professional systems and financial guardrails to deliver accountability for standards, systems, and staff.The Head of School directly manages the Program Coordinator and Department Heads and partners closely with the Area Director to shape the school's future.Head of School ResponsibilitiesVision & Program LeadershipLead the execution of the school's experiential and nature-based learning modelBring Fractal Nature Learning principles to life on campusChampion the school's identity, values, and educational philosophyMarket Presence & GrowthServe as the public face of the school in the communitySupport enrollment growth through tours, events, and storytellingBuild partnerships that extend the school's reach beyond its immediate neighborhoodStaff Leadership & DevelopmentRecruit and develop educators aligned with experiential and child-centered learningInspire teachers to grow professionally and creativelySet high expectations and accountability for licensing and accreditation standards, engagement, and collaborationFamily EngagementCultivate deep, trust-based relationships with familiesCreate a strong parent community connected to the school's missionLead clear, values-driven communicationOperational & Financial StewardshipManage day-to-day operations within approved budgetsManage operational and tuition management systemsBalance creativity with discipline around staffing, schedules, and costsPartner with shared services and Portfolio Management for reporting and planningCollaboration & InnovationWork closely with Fractal Education on program evolution and long-term positioningParticipate in piloting new initiatives, spaces, and learning experiencesProvide feedback to continuously improve the Destination School modelRequirements:Head of School Qualifications5–10+ years of leadership experience in early education, progressive education, or founder-led school environmentsStrong growth and builder mindsetDemonstrated ability to build enrollment demand and community engagementOperations management capability with team building and accountability for standardsExperience with experiential, nature-based, or interest-driven education strongly preferredBackground in tuition management systems, Microsoft Office, and Google suiteExcellent communication and storytelling skillsComfort balancing creativity with operational disciplineBachelor's degree required; advanced degree in Education or related field preferredCompensationUp to $80k annual salary plus incentives based on experience and site selectionHealth care insurance & benefits offered with company contributionPaid vacation, company holidays, and additional earned leave offeredProfessional development, offsite training, and mentorship with Head of School cohortGrowth potential into multi-site and specialized roles
