About Precise Process Consulting
Precise Process Consulting (PPC) is a Houston-based boutique consulting firm specializing in Change Management, Process Improvement, and Project Management. We serve Fortune 500 and mid-market clients navigating complex operational and enterprise transformation initiatives, bringing Big 4-caliber experience with the responsiveness and personal attention of a boutique firm.
About the Role
PPC engages Senior Operations Consultants on a project basis to support client engagements focused on operational efficiency, process improvement, and organizational performance. This is a hands-on, field-based role for an experienced practitioner who can independently conduct engineering-based assessments, not oversee someone else's analysis, but perform it directly.
Typical engagements involve evaluating operational throughput, staffing, and process performance at client facilities, often in manufacturing, energy, or oil and gas environments. Work includes on-site data collection and observation, sometimes across multiple shifts, followed by analysis, calculations, and reporting that translate findings into clear, executive-ready recommendations.
PPC engagements are staffed by senior practitioners only. You will work directly with PPC's Founder and President and carry full ownership of your analytical work product, with direct client visibility.
Key Responsibilities
Field Assessment
Conduct on-site engineering-based assessments at client facilities, including direct observation of operations and, when required, coverage of shift changes
Apply time and motion study methods to record and validate actual process cycle times
Gather and review operational data, including throughput records and available performance documentation
Conduct structured interviews with client staff, supervisors, and safety personnel as needed
Process & Capacity Analysis
Map current-state processes end to end to identify where time, effort, or capacity is lost
Perform queuing, capacity, and utilization calculations to translate observed data into throughput and constraint findings
Apply bottleneck analysis (Theory of Constraints) to identify the true constraint limiting performance
Staffing & Root Cause Analysis
Evaluate staffing levels, shift coverage, and role clarity against operational demand through structured work sampling
Apply root cause analysis to distinguish symptoms from underlying causes of inefficiency
Identify near-term and structural process improvement opportunities
Reporting & Client Deliverables
Translate field data and calculations into clear, well-organized findings
Contribute to client-ready reports and executive or board-level presentations
Partner with PPC's Founder and President to ensure recommendations are data-grounded, practical, and defensible
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field

Comfortable with on-site fieldwork, including multi-day visits, shift-based observation, and PPE-required environments
