Failure Analysis Engineer

BoldTek is seeking an experienced Failure Analysis Engineer to perform triage, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis on PC devices returned from the field.This role will investigate failures at the system, subsystem, board, and component levels, using electrical debugging, physical inspection, and failure-analysis tools to identify the cause of hardware and software issues.The engineer will document findings and work closely with engineering and management teams to support corrective actions and product quality improvements.Candidate must be able to reliably communicate and come onsite 5x a week.Role is 1099 contractor, $40-50 hourly rate.Responsibilities:Perform initial triage and detailed failure analysis on PC systems returned from the field. Diagnose failures at the system, subsystem, board, and component levels. Safely disassemble PC systems while preserving failure evidence for further investigation. Investigate hardware and software-related issuesDocument investigation methods, test results, evidence, root-cause findings, and recommended next actions. Skills & Requirements:Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related technical field or 5+ years of demonstrated hands-on professional work experience in PC hardware, electronics troubleshooting, or failure analysis with relevant technical certificationsStrong experience performing failure and root-cause analysis on PC devices down to the component level. Strong PC teardown and reassembly skills with the ability to preserve failure evidence. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and PCB/board layouts. Strong electrical debugging and troubleshooting skills. Company Info:BoldTek is a fast growing IT professional service company serving various high-tech companies delivering innovative and smart technology solutions internationally.
