Mechanical LaborerOur trusted customer is seeking a motivated Mechanical Laborer to assist in the onsite construction of water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and related infrastructure projects. This role involves installing mechanical equipment, piping systems, and supporting general construction activities.We are looking for individuals who not only work hard but also demonstrate emerging leadership qualities, such as initiative, accountability, and the ability to positively influence team performance.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with installation of mechanical equipment, including pumps, treatment systems, and chemical feed systemsInstall interior flanged ductile iron piping and PVC pipingInstall miscellaneous metal fabricationsPerform manual labor tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving materialsSafely operate hand tools and power equipmentMaintain clean and organized job sitesWork in environments involving ladders, confined spaces, and hot work (cutting, grinding, welding)Follow instructions from supervisors and complete tasks efficientlyLeadership ExpectationsTake initiative in identifying tasks and supporting team productivityLead by example in safety, work ethic, and reliabilityCommunicate clearly and respectfully with team members and supervisorsHelp maintain a positive, team-oriented work environmentSupport new or less experienced workers when neededContribute ideas to improve workflow, safety, and efficiencyCore CompetenciesStrong teamwork and communication skillsAbility to follow directions and stay task-focusedDependability and strong work ethicAdaptability in changing work conditionsBasic familiarity with construction tools (preferred, not required)Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to collaborateTravel RequirementsMust have reliable transportation to job sitesProject locations range from Southern Maine to Western and Southern New HampshireEducation & CertificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalentOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferredWork Environment & Physical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods on active construction sitesAbility to lift up to 50 lbs regularlyFrequent bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and reachingAbility to work safely around heavy equipment and in physically demanding conditionsPosition DetailsHourly position with potential for overtime
