CDL Driver Supervisor

*Overview* We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented CDL Driver Supervisor to lead our transportation operations with energy and precision. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence transportation planning, optimize fleet management, and enhance overall operational performance through proactive supervision and strategic coordination. *Duties* * Supervise and coordinate the daily dispatching of CDL drivers, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to schedules using vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems. * Monitor road transportation operations, utilizing GPS and GIS tools to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve delivery efficiency while maintaining compliance with DOT regulations. * Manage data entry into logistics systems and ensuring accurate documentation for all transportation activities. * Lead internal communication efforts by managing multi-line phone systems and facilitating effective communication between drivers, office staff, customers, and other stakeholders via phone call management and email. * Conduct analysis of transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, or safety enhancements; prepare reports for senior management. * Oversee fleet management tasks including vehicle maintenance scheduling, vehicle dispatching, and tracking via vehicle fleet management software to ensure optimal vehicle utilization. * Promote a culture of safety by enforcing DOT regulations, conducting routine safety audits, and providing ongoing training on transportation planning and customer service standards. *Qualifications* * Proven experience in road transportation operations or logistics management. * Demonstrated proficiency in transportation planning tools such as GIS, GPS systems, and vehicle dispatch software. * Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment. * Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—with expertise in phone etiquette and multi-line phone systems for effective internal communication. * Knowledge of DOT regulations governing commercial vehicle operations. * Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Excel for data entry and analysis; experience with logistics software. * Ability to lead teams effectively through dispatching responsibilities while maintaining high levels of customer service. * Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret transportation data for strategic decision-making.
