Senior Accountant

Finance ManagerThis position is responsible for performing the accounting and analysis for investment and derivative portfolios for our clients. This includes developing; implementing and/or maintaining one or a combination of generally accepted accounting systems. Prepare and analyze financial reports, journal entries, maintain and reconcile ledger accounts. Provide record of assets, liabilities and other financial transitions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Become knowledgeable about the revenue streams of the organization. Review contracts and grants for billing and reporting requirements and maintain contract files. Ensure standards for documentation are met. Responsible for accounts and grants receivable. Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual grant reporting. Analyze and perform monthly and quarterly general ledger reconciliations, including fund reconciliations. Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting, journal entries, and ledger maintenance. Maintain prepaid expense schedules. Prepare and file monthly Washington State sales and use tax reports. Maintain inventory controls and records. Functions as a backup for payroll processing. Prepare documentation for annual financial and 401K audits for external auditors. Assist the Finance Director with data analysis and special accounting projects, as assigned. Strong analytical and quantitative reasoning, and bases decisions on factual data. Prioritize, multi-task, and manage multiple projects and deadlines Ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic work environment. The ability to work effectively with frequent interruptions is required. Perform other work-related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field preferred 2+ years progressive accounting experience in public accounting or similar work environment Strong organization, oral and written communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines Strong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft Excel and Word as well as experience with accounting software and ABC general ledgers Analytical skills with particular attention to detail Physical Demands and Work Environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
