If you feel the same, then you've found your future.Fuss & O'Neill is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to play a key technical and leadership role within our growing bridge practice in Vermont. This position offers the opportunity to lead complex bridge design and rehabilitation projects, contribute technical expertise across a wide range of structural challenges, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on high-profile transportation initiatives. The ideal candidate is passionate about structural engineering, enjoys mentoring others, and is motivated by work that makes a lasting impact on the communities we serve.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a technical lead for the planning, design, analysis, rehabilitation, and inspection of highway and pedestrian bridgesPrepare and oversee development of bridge design plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reportsPerform and/or review structural analyses, load ratings, and design calculations in accordance with AASHTO and state DOT standardsLead and mentor junior engineers and support staff, fostering technical excellence and professional developmentCoordinate with clients, DOTs, municipalities, and multidisciplinary project teamsParticipate in bridge inspections and condition evaluations as requiredSupport project management activities including scope development, scheduling, budgeting, and quality controlContribute to business development efforts including proposals, client relationships, and technical presentationsSkills, Knowledge and ExpertiseBachelor's degree in Civil EngineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) license in ME, NH, or VT (or ability to acquire within 6 months)8+ years of bridge engineering and structural design experienceStrong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications (preferred)Experience with state DOT bridge programs and standardsProficiency with bridge design and analysis softwareExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to lead technical tasks and collaborate across disciplinesExperience with bridge rehabilitation and inspection programs (preferred)Prior project management or task leadership experience (preferred)This is a hybrid role, offering the best of both worlds-collaborate in-office with a high-performing team and enjoy the flexibility of working remotely part of the week.
