Alternatives Product Control Manager - Vice President
Position OverviewState Street’s Global Product organization is undergoing a period of significant transformation to enhance scalability, transparency, and commercial performance across the Alternatives business.The Vice President – Alternatives Product Control will play a critical role in driving financial discipline, governance, and operational effectiveness across the Product organization. Reporting to the Head of Product Control, this role partners closely with Product, Finance, CAO, HR, and Technology teams to support strategic decision-making, improve reporting and analytics, and enable growth across Private Markets and Custody product offerings.This role combines financial oversight, governance leadership, and business management responsibilities, with a strong focus on enhancing product economics (P&L, cost to serve, pricing) and building scalable frameworks to support a global, complex organization.Primary ResponsibilitiesAs the Alternatives Product Controls Manager (VP), you willLead executive reporting and governance for the Alternatives business, including scorecards, business reviews, and senior leadership materialsDrive Product Control agenda, including P&L oversight (revenue, fees, NII), cost-to-serve analysis, and commercial insightsDevelop and enhance product-level financial tools and analytics (pricing, risk, cost, and performance metrics)Partner with Finance, CAO, and IT to address business questions and improve financial transparency and reporting accuracyConduct strategic and risk deep dives, providing insights to inform business and investment decisionsSupport workforce planning, headcount management, and broader people initiatives in partnership with HR and leadershipManage budgeting and execution of marketing sponsorships and industry engagement activitiesOversee sales enablement and client engagement initiatives, including RFP process improvementsDrive continuous improvement initiatives, including development of data tools, frameworks, and scalable reporting solutionsLead or contribute to Product organization management activities, including OKRs, strategy execution, and operational governanceCollaborate across global teams to improve expense allocation transparency and drive efficiencyFoster employee engagement, culture, and communication across a global organizationWhat We Value (Skills & Capabilities)These skills will help you succeed in this roleStrong analytical and critical thinking capabilities with ability to translate data into actionable insightsProven expertise in financial analysis, product economics, and commercial strategyDemonstrated project management and process transformation experience in complex environmentsStrong stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence and collaborate across senior leadershipAbility to operate independently, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple initiatives simultaneouslyExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentationsExperience navigating large, global organizations and driving cross-functional alignmentStrong understanding of governance frameworks, controls, and reporting disciplinesData-oriented mindset, with experience in data integration, visualization, and analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Alteryx, Python)Proven ability to drive change and deliver results at scaleLeadership and people management capabilities, including developing and mentoring team membersJob Requirements And Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field7–10+ years of experience in financial services, asset servicing, or securities servicesExperience in Product, Finance, Business Management, or Product Control functionsAdvanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; strong analytical and presentation skills requiredExperience with financial modeling, P&L management, and cost allocation frameworksFamiliarity with product control frameworks, governance, and management reportingExperience working within Product organizations and supporting strategic initiativesStrong team player with ability to thrive in a global, matrixed environmentAlternatives experience and knowledge is helpfulAbout State StreetWhat we do.
