In this role, you will be responsible for ownership over customer-driven projects and New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts from proposal through qualification testing and production support. Our ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of relevant experience in a turbomachinery related field.Systems and Mechanical Design Engineer IIIYour Roles/Responsibilities:Design, build, and test micro-turbine and turbo-generator systemsPerform mechanical design and analysis of static and rotating hardware, utilizing metallic or composite materials, across both cold and hot sections of the engineUtilize Siemens Teamcenter and NX for modeling and drafting, adhering to the latest dimensional and tolerancing standards (ASME Y14.5)Set up, execute, and review advanced analyses using tools like ANSYS, focusing on elastic or elastic-plastic behavior, blade and vane dynamics, rotor-dynamics, and thermalsIterate design concepts with a keen eye on driving cost reduction and enhancing value in the designEngage in customer-funded or internal projects, assisting in the drafting of proposals for customer projectsTake on project management responsibilities for designing and producing engine systemsHolistically manage component level and subsystem level hardware from digital (PLM) to physical (hardware test and verification)Collaborate with other team members and subject matter experts to succeed in achieving program milestonesAssist management in the prioritization of tasks and allocating resources; balancing project obligations, delivery milestones, and budget requirements while adhering to quality and functional specificationsProvide expert advice to senior management on problem-solving and solution strategiesYour Profile/Qualifications/Skills:Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, and or equivalent Engineering from an accredited college or university requiredMasters degree, preferredAt least seven years of experience in turbomachinery related field requiredA combination of education and experience will be consideredWe Offer:Employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance401k matchCompany-paid holidays and Paid-Leave Time9/80 scheduleAbout Acutronic:The Acutronic Group has a proud history of building technologies and teams that are crucial to the aerospace, defense, and transportation industries.Acutronic's Simulation & Test Division is the global market leader in high-performance motion simulation and test equipment.
