By advancing software and AI technology, 42dot envisions a world where everything is connected and moves autonomously through a self-managing urban transportation operating system.42dot is seeking a hands-on Network Engineer to support, maintain, improve, and expand our U.S. network infrastructure. This position will take local ownership of the local network environment while working closely with IT, Security, Engineering, Autonomous Driving, and global infrastructure teams. The ideal candidate will be comfortable supporting day-to-day user and network operations while also designing and implementing infrastructure for future growth.ResponsibilitiesNetwork Architecture & Design: Design, implement, and scale the U.S. network infrastructure to seamlessly support the high-bandwidth and low-latency requirements of our engineering and Autonomous Driving operations.Daily Operations & Maintenance: Proactively monitor network performance, troubleshoot complex connectivity issues, and manage local switches, routers, and wireless access points.Global Alignment: Partner closely with global infrastructure teams, including managing cross-border communications with your Korean HQ, to ensure your local environments align with worldwide IT strategies.Security Enforcement: Collaborate with the Security team to implement robust network security measures, manage firewalls, configure VPNs, and maintain strict access controls to protect proprietary data.Documentation & Strategy: Maintain accurate network diagrams, documentation, and operational runbooks while proactively planning for future hardware and capacity upgrades.QualificationsEducation & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with 4+ years of hands-on enterprise network engineering experience.Core Networking Expertise: Strong proficiency in routing, switching, and network protocols (DHCP, DNS , TCP/IP, VLANs, etc) using enterprise-grade hardware.Security Operations: Solid experience configuring security policies and managing switches and firewallsCross-Functional Communication: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively across different teams and time zones.Preferred Qualifications (A Huge Plus): Industry certifications (such as CCNA, CCNP, or JNCIA) and previous experience supporting R&D or autonomous vehicle engineering environments.
