In this role, you will lead the Executive Protection Program, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives while managing all aspects of security for the CEO, Executive Committee, and other senior leaders. Reporting to the Director of Global Security, this role requires extensive experience in executive protection, including domestic and international operations. This role calls for exceptional professionalism, emotional intelligence, exemplary judgment, and a commitment to confidentiality. This position includes traveling domestically/internationally up to 60%.Executive Protection & Security PlanningLead security planning, logistics, and execution for executive travel, residential, events, and functions, including domestic and international trips, Executive Committee meetings, Board of Director meetings, shareholder meetings, and other corporate activitiesIdentify, evaluate, and mitigate risks impacting executive leadership or major corporate eventsDevelop and implement safety plans for routine and threat-based scenariosConduct advance planning for travel, hotels, and event venues; brief executives and staff on safety protocolsProvide on-site security for events as needed, ensuring seamless coordination with internal teams, external agencies, and law enforcement personnelTeam Leadership & CollaborationManage and provide operational direction to the Executive Protection Manager and oversee third-party protective services staffBuild and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external agencies, law enforcement, and security vendorsLead training programs and exercises to enhance organizational preparedness for security-related incidentsProtective Intelligence & Risk ManagementMonitor risks impacting the organization and develop strategies to mitigate themCollect and analyze protective intelligence, travel alerts, and logistical information to proactively develop security assessmentsConduct post-assignment assessments and recommend improvements for protective services protocolsCorporate Event SecurityReview global corporate events to determine risk and executive protection needsCoordinate security arrangements with Corporate Events and Security teams, ensuring adequate coverageOperational OversightExecute and drive the Executive Services StrategyManage the vehicle fleet and ensure all company vehicles and equipment are maintained and ready for serviceConduct investigations related to threats against Medtronic leaders and oversee adherence to workplace violence and threat management protocolsEmergency Response & Crisis ManagementMaintain readiness to respond to evolving risks, emergencies, medical incidents, or security breachesProvide emergency medical support when necessaryDocumentation & Policy DevelopmentDevelop and implement policies, procedures, standards, and checklists to support Executive Services functionsEnsure compliance with established security practices and recommend corrective actionsMust HavesBachelor's degree and 7+ years of Physical Security experience OR advanced degree and 5+ years of experience5+ years of Managerial experienceNice To HaveMaster's degree and experience in public safety, law enforcement, or securityCertification as an Armed Security Officer (or ability to obtain)Extensive experience in executive protection including close protection, event coverage, advance work, international travel security, defensive and evasive driving, firearms, self-defense, and medical responseStrong networks within law enforcement and peer institutionsAdvanced certifications in close protectionExpertise in travel security, operational security, and physical security technologyBackground in investigations and report writingProven ability to navigate complex matrixed organizations and manage competing priorities effectivelyStrong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsAbility to work under stressful conditions while maintaining professionalism and discretionKnowledge of geopolitical, economic, and security environmentsProject management expertise; certificationsPhysical Job RequirementsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position. PR) locations (USD): $138,400.00 - $207,600.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
